my story
My journey in fencing began in 1985 when I stepped onto the piste as an athlete. representing my national team at the age of 15, I achieved remarkable success. I secured the title of African Senior Champion twice and also claimed the Arab Champion title. Additionally, I achieved a commendable 6th place in the Logronio Junior World Cup in 1992.
In 2016, 2019 and 2020 the FIE bestowed upon me the title of “Best Sabre Referee.” It wasn’t just about technical prowess; it was about understanding the nuances—the heartbeat of each bout. The blade whispers secrets, and I listened
Now, as I reflect on my journey, I am committed to passing the torch. New referees, eager and wide-eyed, deserve guidance. I want to share the art of fair judgment, the thrill of a perfectly timed touch, and the camaraderie that binds us all.
